Acadia School of Doula
At Acadia School of Doula, we recognize doulas as an essential part of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum support. Doulas provide continuous emotional, physical, and informational care that enhances the wellbeing of women and families. Their work is complementary to that of midwives and healthcare providers, supporting the relational and emotional dimensions of care while remaining outside the clinical scope of practice.
At Acadia, we train doulas to work ethically, collaboratively, and with integrity to strengthening maternity care teams and supporting respectful, trauma-informed experiences for women and families.
Our Approach
The Acadia doula training is delivered through a flexible online format that combines self-paced courses with live, interactive sessions. This approach allows students to engage deeply with the material while remaining connected to faculty and peers. Our curriculum integrates evidence-based knowledge, trauma-informed care, and a clear understanding of professional practices. Live sessions provide space for discussion, mentorship, and practical integration, supporting reflective learning and community connection.
Designed for accessibility without compromising depth, this approach prepares doulas to support women and families with clarity, integrity, and respect.
